Window Sticker

Found this in the glovebox. It's amazing how many options this simple van has.

The Future

Some of the things that are in the future for this van are tinted windows, I thinkin 5% for the rear and 50% for the front.

Pioneer deh-p3100 and new 6x9 speakers
Black Rock Lobo Wheels. 15x7 with 235/75r15 for the front and 15x10 for the rear with 31x12.5 tires. Don't know what kind of tires I am going to get yet.

I want to install a rear spoiler and a front visor too.
Another thing I want to do is remove the taillights and reshape the body to make it look like there were never lights there. then use LED lights from top to bottom in the rear next to the doors.

Clean up

So when I bought the van the guy waned to keep the alloy wheels that were on it. If I had another $400 I could of kept them, I didn't have the money so I used a set I had laying around. I like the black rims and that will be what I will be getting. I am looking at the Black Rock Lobo rims. I had to change the front ones on the van cause those black ones were rubbing way too much.

I cleaned the interior in the front and took apart the dash and replaced the dash lights cause they were burned out, while I was at it I removed the green covers that were over the lights so instead of a green lit dash it is now white. I like that look alot better.

I tried cleaning the back but apparently black is hard to clean so although I got rid if the dirt and dust I had alot of streaks. I didn't feel like dealing with that today so I will try again another day.

When I removed the front wheels my brother and I took a look at why that one wheel was dragging and getting hot. it seems the caliper might need to be changed. I cleaned the grooves the caliper rides in and put some anti seize in there and it helped a little. Took it for a drive and it didn't get hot at least. I will drive it when I go to town tomorrow and see what happens. I think if I keep using the van it will free that caliper up.

Now Here is a few pictures of the rust. It's really not too bad for this old of a dodge van. The doors are pretty solid and the parts that do need repair will be easy, nothing too complicated just time consuming.

I hope my 88 Ramcharger sells soon so I can get some new tires and rims. and I will get the repair panels, paint and supplies to fix the rust.

Homecoming

I got a 1992 Dodge B250 van for $500 and I want to make it into a street van. I will be tracking my progress and try to include as many pictures as possible. I brought it home on Tuesday April 27th. The front left brake was dragging and was smoking hot when I got home. The first thing I did was take out the interior plywood paneling and remove the pink insulation that was causing rust in the doors and around the rear wheel wells. I also removed the running boards. There is some rust on the lower body and that's about it. I plan to first repair all the rust and paint the underside of the van and get it in good working order. Then I will move to the interior and start figuring out how to do some upholstery. I want to use a dark green vinyl fabric on the walls and dark green carpet. Black ceiling, not sure what material I will use for that yet. I will change the red seats and trim up front to black.
