Front Brakes

Yesterday I painted my calipers and today I did the wheels and installed the new calipers, pads and hardware today.  Tomorrow I will be doing the rear brakes, installing my new ignition switch and maybe installing the steering coupler repair kit.

Black Trim

I got the trim for my doors at a junkyard a couple weeks ago, they are not broken or cracked anywhere! Yesterday I painted them with Krylon Fusion paint like I did the ones I had before and installed them today. Here's how they look.

Killed the Gremlin

A few days ago I went to start my van and it turned over but didn't start. Later in the day I tried again and it started. I replaced the coil then the AC and power windows didn't work. When I turned either one on the red "brake" light on the dash went on. Finally 3 days later I figured out where the gremlin was hiding. One of the fusible links in the engine compartment was burned out. Instead of replacing it with another wire I put a fuse in it instead. Seems to work, gets a little warm but it works.

I ordered a service manual off ebay and as soon as I get it I will trace the circuit and see what is all on it.

End Links

Got new end links and they were pretty easy to install.

Junkyard Finds

Went to the junkyard yesterday to get the strut rod for my van. I ended up leaving with alot more than the strut rod. First was the tinted windows. I only found 2, at least that's 2 less to look for!
Before
After
Best of all, they aren't rusty around the edges.

Next I got the plastic trim for the side and rear doors. I just got one for the side a couple weeks ago but I decided this color will be easier to paint.
Next I got a replacement taillight for the passenger side.
Finally I got some special from a ford conversion van. The overhead lighting! YAY!
The pictures don't show the lights as they really are, they kind of criss cross and make it appear to have lot of depth.

Got other one done

Went to the junkyard yesterday and got a replacement for my broken strut rod. they cut it off and I was worried about it breaking like the old one but after taking it to the wire wheel and spraying on some PB Blaster it came off surprisingly easy. Got it on and good to go. Still have that damn rattle but I think I finally figured out where it's coming from.
